Apostle Irvin Oscar Jackson was born on October 19, 1954 in the Fairview section of Cape Charles, Virginia.  He is married to Co-Pastor Evora Jackson and has three children: Maria, Lamonte and Lavonya. He also has five grandchildren.

Apostle Jackson was converted, sanctified and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in his youth.  In 1983, he accepted the call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Apostle Jackson served faithfully in his home church as a Sunday School teacher, usher, president of the Youth Association, member of the radio broadcast team, deacon, trustee, church organist, and ordained Elder.

In September of 1997, the Lord opened the door for Apostle and Co-Pastor Jackson to have prayer and Bible study in their home, in a small building called “The Shed.”  As a result of prayer and Bible study, families committed themselves to the vision that the Lord had given to Apostle Jackson.  Upon hearing and obeying the voice of the Lord saying, "Go North", Apostle and Co-Pastor Jackson have come to possess the land that the Lord promised.

In February of 1999, the Lord opened the door for Elder Irvin O. Jackson to hold his first worship service at the Days Inn in Pocomoke City, Maryland.  In April of 1999, Elder Irvin Jackson was installed as Pastor and Elder Evora Jackson was installed as Co-Pastor of Living Word Church of Deliverance. In March 2003, Living Word Church of Deliverance held the first worship service at its permanent location, 18154 Lankford Highway, Parksley,Virginia.

In November 2001, under the leadership of Bishop Helen O. Gillis, and under the guidance of the Holy Ghost, the Board of Directors of Mt. Sinai Church of Christ Deliverance, Inc., unanimously agreed to elect Elder Irvin Jackson as its Vice-Bishop.

In April 2018, chief consecrator, Apostle Stanley Butler of the College of Apostles and Bishops affirmed the spiritual gift of apostleship to be operating the ministry of Bishop Irvin Jackson.

Upon the homegoing of Bishop Helen O. Gills on Sunday, November 3, 2019, the Board of Directors of Mt. Sinai Church of Christ Deliverance, Inc. elected Apostle Irvin O. Jackson as the third president of the reformation. On February 8, 2020, Apostle Dr. Irvin O. Jackson was installed as the Presiding Prelate of the Mt. Sinai Churches of Christ Deliverance, Inc.

Under the leadership of Apostle and Co-Pastor Jackson, the Lord has been marvelously blessing the ministry as souls have been saved, delivered, sanctified and empowered by receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Apostle Jackson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Salisbury University.  He holds two Master of Arts degrees from Regent University, one in Business Management and the other in Practical Theology.  On May 4, 2013, Apostle Jackson graduated from Regent University with a Doctor of Divinity degree, having successfully completed the program and defended his dissertation.  With twenty-five years of service, Apostle Dr. Irvin Jackson retired from Eastern Shore Community College on June 1, 2017, where he was employed as an Associate Professor of Business Management.

One of Apostle Jackson’s favorite sayings is, “This is the Lord’s doing; and it is marvelous in our eyes.”  Psalm 118:23
